Yorkshire Sandstone has a more grainy texture than Nabresina or Slate and so lends itself well to bolder inscriptions and sans-serif lettering, but our experienced stonemason can talk you through the process and help you choose the right design.

Although sandstone will age, it does so in a very natural way. Over time, a rich, dark patina can develop that looks organic and blends well with the surrounding environment.

Yorkshire sandstone tends to be a yellowy-brown colour, but you also might find grey, too. In either case, you will find that the stone gets darker as it weathers.
