Memorial Plaques
A lasting legacy for your loved one
Available across the UK
Artisan Memorials specialises in creating bespoke memorial plaques that honour your loved ones with dignity and lasting beauty. Our dedicated stonemasons bring decades of experience to every commission, crafting beautiful tributes for families throughout Kent and across the UK.
Cremation plaques come in various sizes and formats, most commonly they are 2″ thick and installed flush with the ground, but they can also be raised slightly with a sloping, or “desktop” shape and be installed onto a concrete or stone foundation. When considering a cremation plaque, it is best to consider where it will be installed and check if the churchyard or cemetery in question has any specific rules.
Just like our headstones, our cremation plaques are always built from the choicest stone, ranging from Welsh Slate to Yorkshire Sandstone to Nebresina Limestone, so you can be secure in the knowledge that your memorial will defy the elements for centuries to come. Our stone is always sourced responsibly from reputable suppliers from around the UK and Europe, so quality is assured.
No matter what type of stone or format you choose, when you work with Artisan Memorials, we’ll ensure that every inscription is crafted with precision and care. Unlike most memorial masons our background is rooted in the art of calligraphy and lettering. To us the aesthetics, spacing and composition of an inscription is important. Done well these elements have the power to reflect the unique qualities of the person being memorialised.
At Artisan Memorials we always recommend that inscriptions on memorial plaques are deeply V-carved, a technique for inscribing memorials that ensures legibility over the very longterm, whilst offering a more beautiful and personal finish.
During the initial consultation we offer a sensitive and candid approach. Of course, you are in charge but commissioning a memorial plaque is a rare and often once in a life time experience, so we can gently guide you through a difficult and very personal process, avoiding common mistakes and achieving a beautiful and lasting monument.
Whether you want complete autonomy, or guidance from the keen eye of our expert stonemasons – the process is highly flexible. Either way, we will create a number of designs for your selection.
We work nationally, so contact us today for further information about our stone mason services.
