Creating the Perfect Memorial
Considerations when commissioning a memorial.
Type of Stone
Unlike most memorial companies we create every memorial from scratch.
Because we are not restricted to a catalogue of imported ready-made templates we can offer a wider range of stones sourced locally, without the environmental and financial overhead of importing from across the globe.
Our most popular stones can be seen here, however we offer personal and unique memorials using Clashach Sandstone from Scotland, Purbeck Limestone from Dorset, Saint Bees Sandstone from Cumbria, Caithness Stone from Scotland, as well as granite and marble.
All of our stones are suitable for the UK climate, each has its own qualities and characteristics which we can explain before you decide.
Shape of Stone
It is important to consider the shape of the memorial and to be aware of the rules applied by the churchyard or cemetery.
At Artisan Memorials we are able to create any shape and meet any specfication.
Select one of our most popular shapes or talk to us about your own design.
When it comes to lettering most memorial companies offer a basic list of everyday fonts. Little consideration is given to the over all design and how the words sit on the memorial.
At Artisan Memorials we put design at the heart of everything we do.
We believe that inscriptions are the most important aspect of your memorial and work with you to arrive at a letter style that is appropriate, unique and sympathetic to the person being commemorated.
