Why Choose Artisan Memorials?
We use the wonderful range of natural stone available in the UK.
We design each memorial individually in consultation with our clients.
Our deeply carved inscriptions will last for centuries.
Many memorials available today tend to be mass produced standardised designs. The stones offered are mainly polished imported granite and the inscriptions are limited to a few basic fonts. All too often the traditional carving technique of the stonemason, which brings so much character to a memorial is lost due to the less elegant sandblasting method.
At Artisan Memorials we think differently because…..
…superior quality memorial stone is available locally without the environmental costs of cross continent transportation.
…the arrangement and design of the lettering can be expressive and offers the chance to permanently evoke something about the person being commemorated.
…traditional v-carved lettering is better. The play of light and shade when letters are v-carved into stone creates a sculptural, three dimensional quality which lifts the memorial and ensures that the inscriptions last for centuries.
Finishing touches being added to this Yorkshire Sandstone memorial before installation.
Our service includes design, applications for permits and installation.
We work all over the UK.
